Updated Skin Care Routine!

It’s all about updates for now.

I’ve been using quite a bit of new skin and hair products, so I thought I’d share them with you. Today, I’m just going to focus on skin.

Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Scrub Foam

Easily my new favorite facial scrub. This product is pretty cool because you can choose the level of exfoliation by the amount of water you add before you apply it. You can apply it straight to your face for more exfoliation or add water to just use it as a foam cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling super clean, not dry and smells really nice!

Freshmade Coconut Mask

Skinfood Freshmade Coconut Mask

This product actually surprised me. What do you think of when a product is a mask? I thought this was going to be a thicker formulation, something that stays on your face for 10-15 minutes before you wash it off (think SheaMoisture clay masks), but that’s not at all what you get here. This ‘mask’ is a super lightweight, jelly-like consistency. It’s described as ‘bursting moisture droplets’, which is pretty accurate. When you apply it, you can feel it almost melting right into the skin. It absorbs super quickly, leaves no residue and instantly hydrates.

SheaMoisture Coconut Oil Coffee Scrub

The only new non-facial product on my list. I needed a new body scrub, I’m trying to get the KP on the legs back under control after mostly ignoring it in winter and spring. I decided to try this one because it is supposed to soften and restore, and it’s a coffee scrub… my favorite kind. This scrub is actually coffee grinds… straight up, no liquid in there, nothing binding the grinds together, just coffee grinds. I’m assuming the coconut oil is infused somewhere. It actually makes your shower smell like freshly brewed coffee, which is great for any morning shower people! I’m loving this scrub. Not only does it smell great when you use it, it really does leave your skin amazingly soft.

Those are all my new skin care products at the moment. What are some of your faves for summer?

Boscia Charcoal Deep-Pore Cleansing Stick Treatment Review!

A month or so ago I went to Sephora looking for the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask, and of course, they did not have it. Not one was in stock. I guess everyone had the same idea as me that weekend. So, one of the girls working there suggested that I try the charcoal stick treatment, and I’m so glad she did!

This is literally a stick, like deodorant or a chapstick, you roll it up from the bottom. I had never used a solid cleanser before, but I have used charcoal cleansers and really liked them before.

So, basically, you wet your face, roll up a bit of the cleanser and apply in circular motions all over your face. It will lather up slightly, and you’ll feel the fine charcoal particles exfoliate. Then work it in a bit more with your fingers, if you like (I do), and rinse. It rinses easily and leaves my face super clean and not at all dry.

I love this stuff! I am so glad that someone pointed this out to me, otherwise I probably would not have even looked at it. I use this a few times a week, and it definitely helps to clear up my skin if I’m having any issues. Honestly, this might be a new holy grail cleanser for me, I really do love it that much.

Have you every used this before? What about any other solid cleansers?

Freeman Feeling Beautiful Apple Cider Vinegar 4-in-1 Foaming Clay Review!

I’ve been on a skin care kick, I’ve been obsessed with finding a peel off mask. While on my search, I came across this and I’m so glad I did!

So far, I’ve only used this as a scrub, and I love it!  We need to discuss the smell… it seriously smells like apple cider and it’s so great, especially in the fall when I’m all about the apple cider.

The product itself is a peach color, and it’s not super thick even though it says that it’s a clay. I was wondering how it foamed up, I almost thought it could be like those bubbling masks that I’ve seen online, but it’s not like that, it actually starts to foam up when it touches water. It also has some small particles in it, which are great for exfoliating.

Every time I use it, my face feels super clean. I honestly love everything about this and I’ll probably be buying it again. I’m actually pretty excited to try other products from this brand as well. The best part? It’s only $4.29 at Ulta! I actually got it with another product for BOGO 50% off!

Have you tried this brand before? What are your favorite scrubs?

Lush Cup O’ Coffee Review!

Found my new favorite face mask/ exfoliator….

So this is a face and body mask, but when you’re in a pinch you can also use it as an exfoliator.

I say we start with the scent… it’s amazing, it smells like coffee! Perfect for those groggy mornings. It actually has ground coffee in it, so it’s a gritter texture. It’s not as gritty as Ocean Salt, for reference. I usually like finer particles in my facial products, but this is very gentle and I’ve had no problems with my skin not liking it.

I’ll use it as a mask on weekends, when I have the time to leave it on for 15 minutes. I’ll also use it during the week  if I’m feeling tired in the morning, and I’ll just leave it on while I brush my teeth. I haven’t used it on my  body yet, but I definitely want to try it on my legs when it gets warm enough to hang out in shorts.

Overall, I love this. I’m ready to repurchase it as soon as I run out!

What are some of your favorite face masks?

GLAMGLOW Poutmud Fizzy Lip and Wet Lip Treatment Duo Review!

I’ve been needing a new lip exfoliator for a while now, I was going o do a decent sized Lush haul for the holidays, but then I saw a review for this online and I knew I had to get it!

You get two products (obviously, since it’s a duo lol). I love the packaging, it’s like fancy eos! So you get these two super shiny spheres and the products are inside. They have the logo on the front and the product name on the back, it was really hard to get a picture of the words on the metallic background.

On the left you have Poutmud Fizzy Lip Exfoliating Treatment and on the right you have Poutmud Wet Lip Balm Treatment.

First off, they are both minty! I was so happy! My favorite lip exfoliator from Lush is Mint Julep, so I was really excited for the mint.

Alright, so the Fizzy Lip. Here are the directions from the box: Pucker Up. Apply liberally & Massage onto lips for 5-10 seconds to pre-exfoliate. Gently massage with water to activate fizzing renewal action. Rinse with warm water. Use 2-3x per week.

And Wet Lip: Apply evenly to lips. Use day and/or night, as often as desired.

So I started using it the second I got it, hence the finger print in the Wet Lip lol. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now and I love it. I use Fizzy Lip 1-2 times a week, depending if I’m going to be wearing any lipsticks, I may use it an extra time right before lipstick application. I use Wet Lip at least twice a day, once at night and once in the morning plus any extras in between.

Fizzy Lip does a great job exfoliating, it’s gentle but you can definitely feel a difference. Once you add in the Wet Lip it’s like a brand new pair of lips! Wet Lip is even a little tingly so you know it’s doing something when you apply it. I find that it really does a great job of moisturizing and you only need a little bit of product.

Overall, I love this set! So glad I found it! I think it was actually the last one in the Sephora I went to, definitely check if yours has it, I’m pretty sure it’s not available on their website anymore. Not sure if it’s anywhere else online. It retails for $39 and it’s worth it!

Have you tried this or any other GLAMGLOW product?

Isabella’s Clearly CALM Review!

Disclaimer: This item was sent to me for review

I love body scrubs and exfoliators, so I was excited to try this one from Isabella’s Clearly!

Here are the ingredients: A proprietary blend of Almond oil with Eucalyptus, Tea tree, Lavender, Yarrow, Ravensara, Calamus, Myrrh, Rosemary essential oils and Dead Sea Salt Crystals

It is also Sulfates, Phthalates, Paraben, DEA, Formaldehyde and PEG free, 100% vegan and never tested on animals!

The directions say: Massage the scrub on your body gently with circular movements and rinse with warm water. May also be used as invigorating bath salt.

First and foremost lets talk about the scent. It actually smells kind of like a spa… it’s hard to explain but if you’ve ever been in a spa you’ll probably know what I’m talking about. I think most spas have that spa smell. It’s not overwhelming, unless you stick your face into the actual container, which I did at first. I don’t suggest doing that. But once you’re using the product it’s a really nice, calming scent.

I really like the texture of this product. Because it has the sea salt crystals, it really feels like its doing a good job of exfoliating. It did clump together a little bit after the first use, so you might have to break it up every so often.

I used it while I was in the shower, and tested it primarily on my legs and arms. When you massage it into your skin, you get that exfoliation, but the salt also starts to melt and the essential oils get massaged into your skin. I thought that was great. But I did find that if you are too wet, the sea salt melts very quickly and you get less of that exfoliation, so just be aware of that.

Overall, I really like this product. I’ve been using it and will continue to use it! If you’re looking for a natural body scrub, you can find this on Amazon.

Infinite Aloe RxRenew Microdermabrasion Cream Review!

Disclaimer: This was sent to me for review

Another Infinite Aloe product!

This is another one of Infinite Aloe’s higher end skin care products, here is a little more about it:

“RX Renew Microdermabrasion Cream is the answer to your exfoliation needs. It is formulated with bamboo to remove the dead skin cells from the top layer of your skin.

This allows your vibrant skin cells to come to the surface and shine. It also stimulates those cells to reproduce more healthy skin.

It is also full of anti-oxidents and emoilents to sooth your skin for a fresh feeling you can’t get with any other microdermabrasion cream.”

Directions say to use this products once a week, which is what I did. This product has the consistency of a cream, and no scent besides that normal lotion smell. I found that the particles were very small, more like a normal exfoliator. The particles in the Infinite Aloe scrub were bigger. It doesn’t feel like other microdermabrasion creams that I’ve tried, it’s not as harsh and my face doesn’t feel as tight once washed off.

I really like this cream, I don’t know how well it does as ‘microdermabrasion’, but it’s a great exfoliator. I still use it every week as part of my new skincare routine.

For more info about this, including ingredients and price, you can visit the Infinite Aloe website.

Infinite Aloe Scrub Review!

Disclaimer: This item was sent to me for review

I love a good scrub, and now that I wear makeup every day, I definitely need more of that deep clean you get from a scrub.

IAscrubIAscrub2Here is a little about the product:

“Most scrubs leave your skin dry and ravaged like a bad night out on the town: you thought it was going to be good but after a few hours you feel kind of worse. Not so with InfiniteAloe Skin Care Scrub.

That’s because we love your skin with deep moisture while you are cleaning away the dirt, grime and old skin. You’ll be feeling fresh and new.  Most people use it daily for a week and then maintain with a once-weekly application.

It’s also made in the USA, cruelty free and uses organic Aloe Vera!

Here is a list of ingredients and directions are:

Moisten fingertips and carefully apply with a gentle circular motion, especially on areas where you have clogged pores.

Massage thoroughly then wash with warm water.

Let’s start with the scent. At first, it’s a strange scent and pretty strong, but when you take it our of the tub it actually smells a little choco-minty, kind of like Lush’s Mint Julep lip scrub, but less sweet. The texture is pretty thick, like a paste, but spreads easily onto the skin. It feels like a microdermabrasion type of product, lots of particles. It does not get foamy when you add water to it, or when you rub it into your skin, it’s purely a scrub.

As far as the claims go, I have to say that it definitely did not dry out my skin! I was pretty pleasantly surprised! My skin felt soft and very clean after using this. I didn’t use it for a week straight, instead just once a week, but I might try it out for a full week and see what happens.

Also, you get a lot of product. It’s 4oz, which doesn’t seem like a lot but that tub is pretty darn big when you get your hands on it. You don’t need that much when you use it, so I can see this lasting me for a long while.

So, I really like this scrub! It does the job without totally drying out my skin, so if you have dry skin, I’d totally suggest trying this! You can buy this on Infinite Aloe’s website, it retails for $40 for 4oz, but right now it’s $30.
