IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Essentials Eyeshadow Palette Swatches and Review!

Press Sample

More spring makeup from IT Cosmetics! If this doesn’t get you in the mood for spring, I don’t know what will.

The box.

The packaging. It’s so cute! I love the blush color and the rose gold lettering. The cover is also pillowy, and it’s small enough to be perfect for travel.

The inside is also that rose gold, and the shade names are underneath in black. They are a little hard to see because of the reflective packaging, so here they are:

Top row:

  • Imagine
  • Wonder
  • Dream

Bottom row:

  • Passion
  • Intrigue
  • Allure

And the highlighter is called Transforming Hello Light.

Left to right:

  • Imagine- matte light cream
  • Wonder- matte cream
  • Dream- matte light nude blush

Left to right:

  • Passion- matte light brown
  • Intrigue- matte medium brown
  • Allure- matte blue-black
  • Transforming Hello Light- shimmery pearl

I apologize if the colors are hard to see, I’m pretty pale and most of the shades are light, so they tend to blend into my skin.

My shade descriptions are different than the ones on the IT Cosmetics website, because I call them how I see them.

These shadows are super soft, easy to apply and blend. They’re light but nicely pigmented. For a neutral palette, I think the colors are actually pretty interesting, especially Dream and Allure. This palette is perfect for everyday and the shades can easily go from day to night. The highlighter is beautiful! It’s not sparkly, but has the perfect amount of shimmer.

I’ve been using this palette every day since I got it, I think it’s great for work. I’ve been using either Wonder or Dream on the lid with a combo of Passion and Intrigue in the crease. I’ve used both Imagine and Transforming Hello light as an eyebrow highlight.

Overall, I’m really enjoying this palette! I was ready for something new for spring, so this was exactly what I needed. If you’re in the market for a new matte/neutral palette, definitely check this one out. It’s available on the IT Cosmetics website and retails for $28.

IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara Swatches and Review!

Disclaimer: This was sent to me for review

The box with all the claims

The tube is a skinny hourglass-ish shape, if there’s another name for this shape, let me know lol

The wand is pretty dense, not too big or too small. Definitely smaller than some of those massive wands on the market today.

The color I received is Super Black, and it lives up to it’s name.

Here’s what IT has to say about it:

“Our proprietary Elastic Stretch Technology wraps each individual lash in a volume-boosting, lengthening and ultra-conditioning black cape of power and color, for your strongest, longest, thickest and most defined lashes. The super buildable formula puts lash power at your fingertips; simply apply more coats to add volume and length to lashes.”

It’s infused with lash-lifting polymers, collagen, biotin, proteins and peptides.

So, I found that it gave my lashes crazy length! One coat and woah. I was not expecting that kind of length. It added some volume with one coat, but the more coats you apply, the more volume you’ll get. I did notice that it left little clumps on my lashes, then I’d add another coat to get rid of the clumps, which mostly worked. It doesn’t lump your lashes together though, which is a very good thing.

I found the color to be very black, and it lasts beautifully. No flaking off, and it was very easy to remove with a makeup wipe. I had it on for about 16 hours the first day I tried it, and not one flake!

Overall, if you’re looking for a lengthening mascara, this is for you! I was very impressed with all the length I got. I really like this mascara and will definitely continue to use it!

And luckily… this product launches today 1/8 on QVC during the 11pm Friday Night Beauty segment! It’s going to be available exclusively on QVC until February, and then it will be available at Ulta, and!

Ulta Precision Liquid Eyeliner Swatches and Review!

I bought this on a whim because it was $3! Now lets see what I actually think of it.

Normal looking liquid eyeliner, same size as most.

Ultaprecisioneyeliner2It has a felt tip, which is a normal length, I would say. Pretty easy to handle. Ultaprecisioneyeliner3I got it in black. You can see that it’s a not as super black as it could be, and is also a little patchy when doing a thin line.

So first and foremost, I was not expecting much out of a $3 Ulta brand eyeliner. When I first brought it home, I let it sit around on the counter for a couple of days and when I went to try it… it was totally dry! I didn’t want to throw it out right away, so I  stood it up upside down for a few days, hoping that the liquid would redistribute. Luckily it did! So warning: make sure to store your liquid liner pens upside down.

The first time I used it, I actually really liked it. It was easy to make a thin line, the actual pen was easy to handle and it was black enough for my liking. But as I continued to use it, it got a little patchy and now it’s getting a little difficult to create a thin line (as you can see from the picture).

Also, a major warning if you have watery eyes! This stuff is not at all waterproof. I had a sneezing fit one morning, my eyes got all watery and literally all of the eyeliner came off. It was awful. I would not recommend this if you have allergies or watery eyes, in general.

Overall, it’s okay. In optimal conditions its a pretty good eyeliner, especially considering the price. Would I purchase it again? Definitely not. I’m a waterproof liner kind of girl. But I will use it some more before I toss it.

Have you tried this? What’s your favorite inexpensive eyeliner?

My Everyday Makeup!

I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while now, but needed an extension cord for my light box. Womp. I finally got one, so on to the post!

I thought I’d share my everyday makeup!

First up, primer.

everydaymakeupSorry about the totally distorted tube lol. This is the Dermablend Skinperfector Redness Reducing Primer. I found it at TJ Maxx for $15 a while ago. I don’t have much redness, but I needed a new primer haha. So this comes in one of those metal tubes, it’s not plastic, that’s why it’s all bent out of shape like that. The primer itself has a green tint to it to help counteract redness. It’s a tiny bit tacky, so I always have to rinse my hands after applying it.

After primer comes eyes.

everydaymakeup2I left my Naked Basics for a while, then had to come back to it. It really is my favorite neutral palette. For my everyday eye, I use W.O.S. on the entire lid and Naked 2 for my crease. With that I use my It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe No-Tug Dual Eyeshadow brush. I use the fluffy side for both the lid and crease. Currently, I’m also using three different liquid liners (finishing one , using one and testing one), the one pictured is the Maybelline Master Precise liner.

Once eyes are done it’s time for face!

everydaymakeup3I totally fell in love with the It Cosmetics It’s All About You collection, I used it once and was hooked and now use it every single day. I actually use two shades of the Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer. I use the medium shade for my dark circles, because it’s a little more orange, and then I use the fair for brightening and other blemishes. After concealer I use the Celebration Foundation with the It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush. Then I go into the Naturally Pretty Face Palette with my e.l.f Blush Brush and use the Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder to set my under eye concealer. And finally I use my It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Radiance Wand Brush with the Vitality Matte Bronzer in Warmth to warm up my face.

And then I’m good to go!

I gotta say… I’m obsessed with all the It Cosmetics brushes that I own. I love them all so much! I highly suggest, at least, going to check them out at Ulta!

What’s your everyday makeup routine?

Maybelline Master Precise by Eye Studio Eyeliner Swatches and Review!

My Kat Von D tattoo liner started acting wonky recently, so I decided it was time to buy a supplemental liquid liner. I went to Ulta looking to buy one from NYX and, of course, they didn’t have it. I should have known. Every time I go into Ulta with a list they never have anything I need. I really wanted a liner with a brush tip, and couldn’t find one. After half an hour of googling and wandering, I settled on this one from Maybelline (and an Ulta one, but that’s for a different post).

maybellinemasterpreciseThis is a liquid liner in the pen form, it’s actually shorter than other ones that I’ve used. maybellinemasterprecise2It might be shorter than other liners, but it has one of the longest tips ever! It’s a felt tip and it’s really long for some reason, I don’t find the length to have any particular benefit.  maybellinemasterprecise3The formula is nice, it’s smooth and opaque. I’m really not crazy about the felt tip as it’s a little difficult to get a thin line. I also found the tip to be a little scratchy on my eyelid, it’s nothing horrible, just a little uncomfortable. This isn’t the softest felt tip I’ve ever used.

I don’t think it’s waterproof, so if you have watery eyes, inner or outer corners, be careful! I have bad allergies and my inner corners get really watery, and this liner ran right off. Now I just avoid placing it too close, just in case.

Other than that, I didn’t find any problems with it. It was really good staying power, I’ve had it on for a good 15-17 hours without any problems (unless I had watery eyes!). No flaking or smudging, unless I rubbed my eye by accident lol.

For a drugstore liner, I’d say it’s pretty good. I like the formula and opacity, but the felt tip could use some work. Next time, I’d probably try something new rather than buying this one again.

Current Makeup Favorites!

I’ve been using some new makeup/ makeup tools recently, so I thought I’d share my current makeup faves with you!

First up, the IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe No-Tug Dual Eyeshadow brush!

I tested this brush a little while ago and it quickly became my go-to eyeshadow brush. I don’t use the smudger side much, but I love the fluffy all over side. It’s super soft and distributes the eyeshadow beautifully. I use it all over the lid and also as a crease brush! For the crease, I just use the very top of the brush, as opposed to the side for my lid.

To go along with my new favorite eyeshadow brush, I brought out an old favorite eyeshadow palette!

604214396906_nakedbasicsAh, Naked Basics. I was using a few other palettes before I came back to this one. It’s perfect for day-time and work, which is what I use it for.

Next is eyeliner! I’ve wanted to try this one for a while, and I finally bought it during the Sephora sale.

31v57UbaRBLIt’s Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper! I looooove this! I’m so glad that I got it. It has a brush tip, is nice and pigmented and super easy to handle. You can make a thin line or thick line no problem.

Still staying on the eye theme…

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer! I got a sample of this with my order during their sale and wow, I love it. I have Benefit Erase Paste, but I think I like this even better. It’s creamier and doesn’t crease as much on me. It makes me look a little bit more alive in the morning lol

Switching gears a little bit…

553I’ve loved Tarte Rainforest After Dark literally from the first second that I saw the packaging. It’s my favorite fall palette, but recently I’m loving the bronzer! It’s Park Avenue Princess and I use it every single day for a light all over bronze and slight contour. It’s beautiful, blends fantastically and doesn’t overwhelm my super paleness.

And last but not leas, I’ve rediscovered e.l.f. HD Powder!

83333_900px_A_100011I have it in translucent and I’ve had it for a while but haven’t used it much. The primer I’s using (Dermablend ) leaves me a little shiner than I like, so I decided to give the HD Powder a go, and it’s fantastic. I use it lightly on my forehead, nose an under eyes to remove shine and set my makeup. I love that it isn’t heavy on the skin, doesn’t leave me cakey and actually makes my pores look smaller!

Well, that’s all I have for you… for now! lol what are your current makeup faves?

Oh oh! I almost forgot… I’m going to Disney World! I’m flying out tonight to celebrate my big 2-5 this Friday! Don’t worry, I’ve scheduled some posts for you guys!

IT Cosmetics CC+ Your Way To Radiant Skin! Five-Piece Collection– March QVC Today’s Special Value

I’ve got something exciting for you all today! It’s QVC’s March 27th Today’s Special Value… IT Cosmetics CC+ Your Way To Radiant Skin collection! Warning: very picture heavy

Disclaimer: This was sent to me for review

So here we have the whole collection. It includes: Your Skin But Better Anti-Aging Full Coverage Physical SPF 50 CC+ Cream Illumination (that’s a mouthful lol), Live, Love, Laugh Anti-Aging Vitality Face Disc, Heavenly Luxe Radiance Wand Brush, Luxe High Performance Anti-Aging Eye Shadow Trio in Pretty in Spring and the No-Tug Dual Airbrush Eyeshadow Brush.

itradientskin7 itradientskin8This is the CC+ cream, it’s a new product, here is a little more about it:

“Experience your cult-favorite multi-tasking beauty miracle, now in an illuminating formula that gives you the appearance of a lit-from-within glow. It’s full coverage foundation, SPF 50 + UVA/UVB sunscreen, brightening color corrector, anti-aging serum, pore-minimizing primer, dark spot corrector and moisturizing day cream all in one step!”

First and foremost, I LOVE that it has a pump! It makes everything way less messy and is much better for storage.

itradientskin11 itradientskin12Here is one pump, the first pump, on my arm… as you can see its pretty dark for me. I got the shade medium, and I’m very pale, so I wasn’t expecting it to match me lol I also wasn’t expecting it to be as thick as it was. I thought it would be more like a BB Cream, but it’s closer to a foundation consistency, kind of like a sunscreen/foundation texture. Also, gotta love that SPF 50, my pale face really appreciates it. I don’t think I’ve ever some across a facial product with that high an SPF.

I’m not sure if you’ll be able to choose colors with this kit, so be aware of that.

itradiantskin19This is the Live, Love, Laugh Anti-Aging Vitality Face Disc. Here is a little about it:

“Discover your most radiant, youthful look with this anti-aging powerhouse! It includes a matte bronzer, illuminating powder and blush stain, formulated with anti-aging, skin-loving ingredients and talc-free, high-performance pigments.”

This is your quintessential face palette.. if that’s the correct term. It has your bronzer, blush and highlight, all very smooth and easy to blend. The bronzer is matte, but pretty light. I’m pretty pale, and it gives me just a touch of color, a light overall bronze. The highlight is really nice, it’s a golden shade and gives a nice glow. It’s not super shiny or overwhelming. The blush is the most pigmented of the bunch. It’s super bright, but is easily blended and diffused. You just need a little bit to pack a punch. I feel like the highlight and blush would work on a variety of skin tones.

itradientskin4 itradientskin5

itradiantskin18This is the Luxe High-Performance Anti-Aging Eye Shadow Trio in Pretty in Spring. This is a new product, here is more about it:

“Give your eyelids the naturally pretty, anti-aging, skin-loving shades they deserve! This eyeshadow trio is packed with high-performance pigments and anti-aging ingredients that help blur away the look of imperfections. The trio includes three new spring-inspired shades.”

Not only do you get three shades, you get a secret compartment with a mirror and two of those foam makeup applicators! I thought that was great. As for the shades, I think they’re great for a no-makeup makeup look. They’re very toned down and neutral. They’re pigmented, but the colors are so neutral that sometimes it looks like you have none of it on.. which might be the point. The way I’ve used them is the middle shade all over the lid, the darkest in the crease and the lightest as a highlight. I’ve also used the lightest shade all over the lid, with a mix of the two other shades in the crease.

The lightest shade might be my favorite here because it’s nice and glowy and shimmery without being glittery. All the shades are very buttery and go on super smooth. I did find that it creased after a while, and by a while I mean a while. I think it was about 16 hours, mind you, I did not wear primer underneath. I also found the the eyeshadow compartment a little hard to open, it might be because my nails are long though.

itradientskin9itradientskin10itradiantskin14 itradiantskin13Wanted to give you guys a good overview of what the brushes look like, here is more about them:

Heavenly Luxe Radiance Wand Brush (new)

“Get your most radiant look with the stroke of a brush! This ultra-luxe, domed brush is designed for flawless application of your bronzing, illuminating and blush shades.”

This brush is massive! It has a super long handle, you can see how long it is in the first picture. The brush itself is big and really fluffy but not very dense. It’s a great all over face brush, I did try it with all the products in the Vitality Face Disc. I found that it did a nice job with overall bronzing and blush, since it is big and fluffy, it diffuses the color nicely. It even worked well to highlight. But because the brush isn’t too dense, it isn’t ideal for contour. You can get a light contour, if that’s what you’re after.

No-Tug Dual Airbrush Eyeshadow Brush

“Give your eyelids an airbrush finish! This cutting-edge, dual-ended eyeshadow brush applied shades flawlessly without tugging on the delicate skin of your eyelids.”

The all-over side is fluffy, but not too dense, so it’s great for diffusing color and blending. The smudge side is shorter, thinner, and denser.

I tried this brush a few ways… the first day that I used it, I used the smudge side for all over eyeshadow and used the all-over side for my crease. The smudger, did the job but I found it too thin and short for that. On the second day, I used the all-over brush for my lid color and my crease, and used the smudger to… smudge! It definitely did better with that, but I think it’s a little wide and I wish the edges were a little more rounded, it’s a little bit too square for my taste. The all-over brush is fantastic. You can use the side to swipe color all over your lids, then use the top for crease/blending.

I also love that the brushes have matte handles to match the rest of the packaging. It’s not only pretty, it helps with grip too.

Overall, I think this collection is great, it has everything you need for an everyday look. I also love the packaging of everything! If you like that no-makeup makeup look or are new to makeup, this is something you should really check out.

I haven’t been told the actual price, but I know the range and for everything that you get, it’s super affordable. Make sure to tune in to QVC on Friday, March 27th at midnight, 9 am, 2pm and 9pm or visit starting midnight Friday, March 27th!

Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette!

For Christmas I finally got my Vice 3 Palette! I know you’ve probably seen it like a bajillion times, but I had to share anyway!

vice3Here’s the box.

vice32This is the pouch that I was super excited about. It’s great for carrying the actual palette, or you could use it for brushes!

vice33  SO PRETTY!

Even prettier! Love the mix of brights, neutrals, shimmers and mattes. This is a great all-in-one for day looks, night looks, neutral looks and bright looks. Basically anything you want, you can do with this palette. It also comes with a double ended shader/blender brush.

My main reason for wanting this palette was that pink column. I have no pink eyeshadows and I love the range of pink to burgundy. Also the fact that it has matte shades is great. So, I’m basically obsessed lol

What did you get for Christmas that you’re super excited about?

Tarte Rainforest After Dark Palette!

Before I left for Florida I made a quick trip to our newly opened Ulta and bought this beauty!

Look at this baby! How gorgeous is this palette?! Honesty. I’m obsessed with it. I feel in love with it because of the packaging. I can’t stop looking at it haha

I really like that it’s an eye and cheek palette, which makes it great for travel. The colors are perfect for fall and it literally makes me super excited for fall and sweaters!

I’ve only just started using this palette and I’m really liking it so far. Can’t wait to go out and actually hanve a reason to do my makeup lol

Anyone else pick this up?

Current Favorites: Mascaras!

I was never a huge fan of mascara, weird, I know! But it’s true. I just started getting into wearing it since I’ve started actually doing my makeup and leaving my house every day. Here are my current faves (no particular order)!

  • L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga
  • Diorshow Blackout
  • It Cosmetics Tightline
  • Urban Decay Supercurl
  • Benefit They’re Real

Is that too many? Can you have too many favorites? I don’t think so. I’ve been loving trying out new ways to layer these guys together. My two recent favorites are It Cosmetics with Diorshow or Benefit on top. Also really like to layer Supercurl with Miss Manga or Diorshow.

What are your current mascara faves?
