Basin Charcoal Shampoo Bar

Have you heard of Basin? If you’ve been to Disney Springs (Downtown Disney), you’ve probably seen the store. I’ve seen it so many times, gone in a handful of times but never really paid attention to what they had. A couple years ago, we decided to actually look around and we picked up some shampoo bars to try. I Instantly fell in love with the charcoal bar (peppermint is second). It is amazing. If you’ve never used a shampoo bar.. it’s just like soap, you wet the bar and lather it up. It lathers really nicely, leaves your hair literally squeaky clean and washes out without a problem. It’s great it you use a lot of product or dry shampoo (like me), it gets your hair super clean.

Boscia Charcoal Deep-Pore Cleansing Stick

I did a separate post on this products already, but it definitely deserves another mention. I’m super glad I got this when the charcoal mask was out of stock. I use it every day, and it keeps my face amazingly clean and clear. Any breakouts I may have, this helps get rid of them super quickly.

First Aid Beauty Cleansing Body Polish with Active Charcoal

I’m always looking for new products to deal with KP (keratosis pilaris) or ‘chicken skin’, which are those little bumps you can get on your arms and legs. I have a lotion that I use that controls it very well, but when I saw this product, I had to try it. These are some of the key benefits:

  • Chemical and physical exfoliators buff away dry patches of skin and even the bumpy “chicken skin” associated with keratosis pilaris
  • Active charcoal sloughs away dirt and impurities
  • The paste-like texture transforms into a foam when mixed with water
  • Perfectly preps skin for a flawless self-tanning application
  • Argan oil and vitamin E hydrate and calm skin

So far, I really like it. The only downside, for me, is the scent. It smells almost seaweedy… I hate seaweed lol, but I can deal with the scent.

So there you have it! Those are my top 3 charcoal products at the moment. I’m definitely looking to dry more, like a charcoal peel off mask. Do you have any favorite charcoal products?

My Winter Skincare Routine!

It’s definitely starting to feel like winter around these parts, so I decided to share my updated winter skincare routine!

IA-SCRUB4detail

First step in my day is using this baby! I love this stuff, I know you’re not supposed to exfoliate every day… but I kinda do. I water it down quiet a bit so it’s just a little scrubby. It’s saved my face a few times.

6802535_320x385This is my new moisturizer and I love it! I finished my Infinite Aloe moisturizer and needed a new one, so I figured I should get something super moisturizing for the winter. I’m usually very sensitive to new skin products, but Neutrogena has never let me down! This one is great, it’s pretty thick and super creamy, and you only need a little bit for your whole face.

41O5C-TzGsL._SX425_My mom has been on a Clarins kick lately. She bought a whole bunch of stuff, got one of these and I inherited it. I’ve been using this as my nightly face wash. It’s creamy, lathers up nicely and is super gentle, seriously the softest bubbles ever.

deepCleansingPoreStripsAnd of course… my new favorite thing to do… pore strips. I use these once a week and loveeee them. Everyone makes fun of me when I have them on around the house, but that’s okay.

What are your go to products in the winter?

Infinite Aloe Scrub Review!

Disclaimer: This item was sent to me for review

I love a good scrub, and now that I wear makeup every day, I definitely need more of that deep clean you get from a scrub.

IAscrubIAscrub2Here is a little about the product:

“Most scrubs leave your skin dry and ravaged like a bad night out on the town: you thought it was going to be good but after a few hours you feel kind of worse. Not so with InfiniteAloe Skin Care Scrub.

That’s because we love your skin with deep moisture while you are cleaning away the dirt, grime and old skin. You’ll be feeling fresh and new.  Most people use it daily for a week and then maintain with a once-weekly application.

It’s also made in the USA, cruelty free and uses organic Aloe Vera!

Here is a list of ingredients and directions are:

Moisten fingertips and carefully apply with a gentle circular motion, especially on areas where you have clogged pores.

Massage thoroughly then wash with warm water.

Let’s start with the scent. At first, it’s a strange scent and pretty strong, but when you take it our of the tub it actually smells a little choco-minty, kind of like Lush’s Mint Julep lip scrub, but less sweet. The texture is pretty thick, like a paste, but spreads easily onto the skin. It feels like a microdermabrasion type of product, lots of particles. It does not get foamy when you add water to it, or when you rub it into your skin, it’s purely a scrub.

As far as the claims go, I have to say that it definitely did not dry out my skin! I was pretty pleasantly surprised! My skin felt soft and very clean after using this. I didn’t use it for a week straight, instead just once a week, but I might try it out for a full week and see what happens.

Also, you get a lot of product. It’s 4oz, which doesn’t seem like a lot but that tub is pretty darn big when you get your hands on it. You don’t need that much when you use it, so I can see this lasting me for a long while.

So, I really like this scrub! It does the job without totally drying out my skin, so if you have dry skin, I’d totally suggest trying this! You can buy this on Infinite Aloe’s website, it retails for $40 for 4oz, but right now it’s $30.

This all-natural balancing facial cleanser gently removes dirt, impurities and make-up while maintaining a healthy balance in your skin without compromising its natural protective nutrients.

Directions For Use

In the morning and evening apply a generous amount of Balancing Facial Cleanser to moistened hands. Work facial cleanser into a lather, and gently massage onto face and neck. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Ingredients

water, decyl glucoside, coco betaine, sd alcohol 40-b, lauryl glucoside, hydrogenated jojoba oil, carrageenan, glycerin, phenethyl alcohol, sea buckthorn fruit extract (hippophae rhamnoides), sea buckthorn seed oil (hippophae rhamnoides), panthenol, coco-glucoside, glyceryl oleate, xanthan gum, sodium levulinate, sodium phytate, sodium anisate, fragrance (from orange and lemon essential oils

So here is what I thought of the product:

First and foremost, the packaging is great, love the pump. The product itself is orange colored and has exfoliating beads. The scent is fantastic! It smells like the It Cosmetics primer that I have, just a kind citrusy. It also foamed up pretty nicely and didn’t leave my skin feeling dry after rinsing.

I had high hopes until I got a few major blemishes. Now, it might not be this product’s fault, but I stopped using it and my face cleared up. I do have pretty sensitive skin though and can only use certain products on my face.

I would definitely say to give this product a go if you’re not prone to breakouts. It’s a really nice product, overall, and I wish I could actually use it more. Everyone is different, so you never know how your skin will react to anything until you try it.

You can find it on the Sibu Beauty website, it retails for $17.95.

Anyone use this before? Thoughts/opinions?
