This collection comes with two, yes, you heard me.. two Supersize Celebration Foundations and Heavenly Luxe Angled Buffing Foundation Brush!

30secondstoflawless2 | by themani-ac

30secondstoflawless4 | by themani-ac

The Celebration Foundation is formulated with SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad spectrum sunscreen, along with anti-aging hydrolyzed collagen, peptides and antioxidants.

The shade I received is Light. I’m a fair in IT Cosmetics products, so this color was too dark for me. I have used the Fair before, and i know that the coverage s relaly good for a powder foundation. It’s a medium coverage, but it’s buildable and it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.

30secondstoflawless3 | by themani-ac

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…. IT Cosmetics brushes are my all time favorite. Love them. I literally haven’t tried one that I haven’t liked.

If you like the Celebration Foundation, it’s time to stock up! You can even keep one for yourself and gift the other!

Ocean Nail Supply Holo Flakies Review!

If you follow nail art on Instagram, you’ve probably seen holo flakies everywhere. I’ve been obsessed with them since I first saw them, and I finally got my hands on a jar!

OceanNailSupplyHoloFlakies | by themani-ac

The blue polish I have on is Zoya Mallory, but we’re here to focus on the flakies. So, I did one coat of black polish, I used Zoya Willa. When it was still tacky, I pressed the flakies into the polish, then topped with Essie Good to Go.
I didn’t think one coat of flakies was enough so I did a second coat. I did a thin coat of Sally Hansen Big Shiny Top Coat (you can use any clear polish), and when that was tacky, I pressed in more of the flakies and again, topped with Essie Good to Go.
These holo flakies are beautiful! I kept staring at them in the jar lol. So, you can totally use these with regular polish, like I did. Most of the time on Instagram, they are used with gel. I definitely think you need two coats, if you’re using them with regular polish. I used my finger to press them in, but you could use one of those eye shadow applicators or a brush if you wanted to. They are a bit messy, they can get everywhere, so be careful of that.
As I was testing them, my sister turned and said “that is the most effective way” to get such a glittery look… and I can’t disagree. It’s definitely more effective than a lot of polishes and regular glitter. The flakies also lay a lot flatter than other glitter/glitter polishes, so after top coat everything is pretty smooth.
I haven’t noticed too much wear, just a bit around the edges after a few days, not too much wear at the tips of my nails, which is impressive. Also, no peeling or lifting, which is awesome!
Overall, I’m loving these flakies. I can’t wait to use them in other ways.

New IT Cosmetics Confidence In Your Glow Swatches and Review!

Happy May, everyone! Why not start a new month with some new products?!

confidenceinyourglow | by themani-ac

These are the new IT Cosmetics Confidence In Your Glow Skin Transforming Healthy Flush Blushing Bronzer palettes! IT is killing it with the Confidence line packaging, these have gradient covers that mimic the actual product! The medallion on the front provides a magnetic closure, and each have a mirror on the inside.

These palettes are infused with high-performance anti-aging ingredients and talc-free pigments. Also, like the rest of the Confidence line, these have that orange scent to them, and they feature a vitamin-C infused, radiance boosting formula.

confidenceinyourglow3 | by themani-ac

First up, we have the palette in Instant Natural Glow.

confidenceinyourglow6 | by themani-ac

Left to right: highlighter, blush, bronzer, swipe of all three

This one has the most classic blush and bronzer combination. It has a pink blush and a lighter bronzer and you can see that the combination of all three is still a very natural, peachy shade.

confidenceinyourglow4 | by themani-ac

Here we have Instant Warm Glow. The palette lives up to it’s name, it gives the skin a nice warm glow, perfect if you’re pale like me and desperately need a tan lol

confidenceinyourglow7 | by themani-ac

Left to right: highlighter, blush, bronzer, swipe of all three

This has a more coral tone throughout the palette, and I think this one has my favorite highlighter of the bunch. This one also has a warmer, darker bronzer. The combination of all three here has a bit more sparkle from the highlighter.

confidenceinyourglow5 | by themani-ac

Here is Instant Nude Glow.

confidenceinyourglow8 | by themani-ac

Left to right: highlighter, blush, bronzer, swipe of all three

This is similar in tone to the Instant Warm Glow, but the shades a touch lighter and a bit more natural. It definitely also warms up the skin, especially if you’re on the fairer side, but I can see it being more ‘nude’ on tanner complexions.

This is the new Heavenly Skin One-Sweep Wonder Brush . It’s a flat brush, similar to a contour brush, but it’s domed instead of flat. The bristles are also layered and tapered, so there are shorter bristles on the sides, and they get longer as you get toward the middle and top of the brush. So, what you have is a denser base and a featherier top. It’s almost V shaped when you look at it from the side.

As always, this brush is super soft and feels really nice on the skin. It actually picks up a ton of product! Use it carefully, as you can pick up too much product very easily. It does blend nicely, though. You can use this brush a few different ways: you can use the flat side to apply blush, you can use the top edge to contour with bronzer and you can use the flat side vertically to highlight.

So far, I’ve been using Nude Glow the most, followed by Warm Glow. I did use Natural Glow for Easter, though! Honestly, I don’t think I can pick a favorite, they all have their place depending on the occasion. I’ve been alternating between them depending on my mood that morning. I’m loving the brush! It’s multi-use, which is perfect for this palette. I really like swiping through all the shades to warm up my face and then going back into the bronzer to contour. The highlighters are also super beautiful on their own.

If you are looking for a new cheek palette, these are definitely worth checking out! The Confidence In Your Glow palettes are available on the IT Cosmetics and Ulta websites now!

Sparkle & Co Mirror Chrome Powder!

I’m sure most of you have seen the chrome nails trend on Instagram… well, I don’t know about you, but I had to try it out myself!

I did research for days on which chrome powder to buy, I finally decided on the kit from Sparkle & Co. I ordered the smaller kit it from Amazon. It contained the powder, an applicator, test nails, their gel top coat and directions.

the first thing I decided to do was test it on regular polish because I didn’t want to go out and buy gel polish in every color. I tested it on polish, red polish and just the white test nail.

So what I did was paint a coat or two of the regular polish and let it dry completely. Then I added a coat of the gel top coat and cured in an LED lamp for 60 seconds (as per directions). Then I applied the chrome powder.

As you can see, the color is different depending on what base you use, which is really cool. Over black you get that true silver, over red you get more of a rose gold and over white it’s a lighter silver.

Once I decided that it would work over regular polish, I had to test it on myself!

So what I did was used Zoya Willa as my base, then did a coat of the Sparkle & Co gel top coat and cured for 60 seconds in an LED lamp. Right after curing I applied the chrome powder with the applicator that came in the kit, brushed away access powder, applied another coat of the gel and cured for another 60 seconds.I decided to do another coat of the chrome powder for extra opacity, then applied a 3rd layer of the gel and did a final 60 second cure.

Phew! The one good thing about gel is that there is no dry time! Love that about it. So, I’m pretty impressed. In the light you can see some of the chrome powder particles, but in the low light it looks totally mirrored, it’s crazy. I’m loving this look!

I’m actually really debating about buying two other chrome powders, I think they are so cool. what do you think?

Warning: Picture Heavy!

The back of the palette has this snazzy booklet with contour and highlighting tips.

Top row: Soft Contour, Light Contour and matte Highlight

Bottom row: Medium Contour, Deep Contour and Radiance Highlight

Close up of the Heavenly Luxe You Sculpted Contour & Highlight brush (No. 18). It’s flat, like medium density and super soft. The brush isn’t too short and compact so it’s great for packing on and diffusing the color.

Top row: Soft Contour, Light Contour and matte Highlight

Bottom row: Medium Contour, Deep Contour and Radiance Highlight

These shades are all super soft, pigmented and blendable. I’ve been using the Soft Contour to contour, it’s the perfect shade for my very pale skin. I usually have an issue with contour shades because I am so pale, lots of bronzers look too orange on me, but the Soft Contour is perfect. I’ve also used the Matte Highlight on my brow bones and the rest of my face for highlighting. It looks lighter on the skin than in the pan, and it’s great because it’s a nude shade instead of white, so it looks much more natural. The radiance highlight is also beautiful and gives you a natural glow. One of the best things about this palette is the range of colors, you can use it if you’re tan, pale or anything in between.

This is honestly the contour palette I’ve been looking for, and I’m totally obsessed with the brush! If you’re looking for a contour kit or brush, definitely check these out!

More spring makeup from IT Cosmetics! If this doesn’t get you in the mood for spring, I don’t know what will.

The box.

The packaging. It’s so cute! I love the blush color and the rose gold lettering. The cover is also pillowy, and it’s small enough to be perfect for travel.

The inside is also that rose gold, and the shade names are underneath in black. They are a little hard to see because of the reflective packaging, so here they are:

Top row:

  • Imagine
  • Wonder
  • Dream

Bottom row:

  • Passion
  • Intrigue
  • Allure

And the highlighter is called Transforming Hello Light.

Left to right:

  • Imagine- matte light cream
  • Wonder- matte cream
  • Dream- matte light nude blush

Left to right:

  • Passion- matte light brown
  • Intrigue- matte medium brown
  • Allure- matte blue-black
  • Transforming Hello Light- shimmery pearl

I apologize if the colors are hard to see, I’m pretty pale and most of the shades are light, so they tend to blend into my skin.

My shade descriptions are different than the ones on the IT Cosmetics website, because I call them how I see them.

These shadows are super soft, easy to apply and blend. They’re light but nicely pigmented. For a neutral palette, I think the colors are actually pretty interesting, especially Dream and Allure. This palette is perfect for everyday and the shades can easily go from day to night. The highlighter is beautiful! It’s not sparkly, but has the perfect amount of shimmer.

I’ve been using this palette every day since I got it, I think it’s great for work. I’ve been using either Wonder or Dream on the lid with a combo of Passion and Intrigue in the crease. I’ve used both Imagine and Transforming Hello light as an eyebrow highlight.

Overall, I’m really enjoying this palette! I was ready for something new for spring, so this was exactly what I needed. If you’re in the market for a new matte/neutral palette, definitely check this one out. It’s available on the IT Cosmetics website and retails for $28.

What’s your favorite spring makeup?

As I am just starting to actually enjoy using bronzer, I was super excited to get this one!

Love the packaging! The font, the frosted matte cover.

Even the actual powder is cute, reminds me of the sun… which is probably the point lol

This is a matte bronzer, no sparkle at all. It’s a little on the orangey side when packed on (and I packed it on for this swatch). When you blend it out, you get a really nice, soft, warmed up look. I’m very pale so this perfectly warms up my face so I don’t look sickly after all my foundation and concealer is on lol. It has just enough color for the upcoming warmer weather. It blends easily, and you can build up the color if you like a stronger bronze. It’s perfect for adding color all over your face, it might be a little too orange for contour though.

I’m loving this bronzer, even though the weather took a very cold turn lately, it reminds me that summer is on the way. If you’re pale, I highly suggest checking this one out.

IT Cosmetics It’s Your Bye Bye Collection – 5 Piece Collection!– March QVC Today’s Special Value!

Disclaimer: This was sent to me for review. All opinions are my own

It’s that time again… IT Cosmetics on QVC! It’s the Today Special Value… today! Warning: picture heavy!

All the lovely products in their packing.

Out of the packaging! Notice that the brush has a flat bottom, so you can just stand it up on any flat surface.

A close up of the brush, this is the Heavenly Skin Bye Bye Pores Powder Brush. It’s domed, pretty dense and super soft.

The Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm. This basically combines your makeup removal and cleansing process into one step. It has a texture similar to coconut oil. It looks like a solid, but as your hands warm it up it melts. So all you do is apply it to dry skin, rinse with warm water or wipe off with a soft cloth.

I’ve been using it since I received it, and I really like it. It removes makeup really well and after I rinse it off my face feels clean and not at all dry, like it does with some other cleansers. I’m not sure if it’s safe to use on eyes, so I’ve been avoiding the eye area just in case.

Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder. This is a translucent powder, great for makeup setting. I’ve used it for setting concealer when I use powder foundation and for setting all my makeup with using liquid foundation. I absolutely love this. It does not cake and actually does help blur your pores.

The bottom compartment of the Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder, here you’ll find a white makeup sponge.

Bye Bye Pores Blush Airbrush Brightening Blush. This is a nice warm coral color, perfect if you don’t like super noticeable blushes. I’ve been applying just a little bit of it and I really like it. It adds just enough color.

Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Full Coverage Anti-Aging Concealer in Light. If you follow this blog, you might already know how much I love the regular Bye Bye Under Eye concealer, but this one just took the number one spot on my list for under eyes. It’s very brightening and in the swatch and comparisons below you’ll see the differences between the two.

Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination on the left and the Airbrush Brightening Blush on the right.

Here, you can see that Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination is much brighter than the original Bye Bye Under Eye. It has more of a radiance about it.

This collection comes in 4 colors: Light (the one I received), Medium, Tan and Deep.

Overall, I think this collection is fantastic. I love every single product in it and it’s definitely worth checking out!

House of Beauty Lip Hybrids Swatches and Review!

I don’t even remember when I first saw or heard about these, but I rediscovered them a few weeks ago and had to buy them right away.

The colors that I got.

I wanted to show you the viscosity of the lip hybrid.

These are the colors that I got:

  • Pretty Natural– a pale rosy brown, sets to a satin finish
  • Kathryn– a rose taupe, sets to a semi matte finish
  • Iron Rose– metallic rose with burgundy undertones, sets to a metallic semi matte finish
  • Sienna– a red toned brown, sets to a semi glossy finish
  • Gothica– a deep burgundy with plum undertones and red shimmer, sets to a semi glossy finish
  • Midnight– rich plum with purple shimmer, sets to a satin finish

The Lip Hybrids come in a lot of different finishes: satin, semi matte, semi glossy, metallic semi matte, foiled satin, high gloss, sparkly satin finish and semi metallic satin. (I think that’s it lol) I tried to get a variety of finished to try out.

There are over 100 colors to choose from and believe me… it’s super hard to choose. I decided to go with colors I knew that I’d wear. I really wanted the gold one called Treasured buuuut I knew I wouldn’t actually wear it. So I went with more neutral colors and vampy colors (basically opposites lol).

As you can see these come in clear jars, like the ones you get when you buy pigments or loose eye shadows. So, you need to have something to apply them with. I use a lip brush I have from OCC.

These have a texture similar to OCC lip tars, but they are ‘stickier’, more viscous. Similarly to lip tars, you only need a small amount. You can layer them for more opacity or use less for just a wash of color. The color does depend on your lip color, if you have pigmented lips, you may want to use foundation or concealer to neutralize your lip color so the true color of the lip hybrid will come through. I tried thee over bare lips and concealed lips… I prefer them over the concealer.

They are supposed to have a wear time of 4-8 hours. They do transfer so the wear time will depend on what you’re doing. The first one I wore is Sienna. I put it on at around 7pm, went out.. ate, drank and wiped my face multiple times (wings, go figure) and just had a stain left by 10:30. By 11:30 it had faded pretty completely. With all the eating and wiping, I’d say that’s still not bad. If you aren’t going to be eating or drinking, they will last longer.

I haven’t worn these much, but so far I’m really liking them. I’m really pumped to dry the darker colors. Have you tried any kind of ‘lip hybrid’?

NYX Liquid Suede Vintage and Soft-Spoken Swatches and Review!

I’ve been waiting forever for these to be back in stock at Ulta! I finally got my hands on them!

Vintage on top, Soft-Spoken on the bottom

Close up of the brush. It’s a weird shape, kind of like a… rabbit’s foot, maybe? It’s flat on one side, but pretty long, longer than an average doe foot applicator. I found it very confusing to work with the first time I used it, but got the hang of it pretty quickly. It does pick up a lot of product.

Vintage is like a dark red/brown, kind of berry color. Soft-Spoken is a soft, peachy-brown.

Just for reference, in case you were wondering, Soft-Spoken is not a dupe for Urban Decay 1993. It looks like Soft-Spoken is darker, but it’s actually the reverse! 1993 is darker on the lips.

So, I wore Vintage the first day that I got it, I was just too excited! It dries to a nice matte finish, it takes a little while to fully dry though. I found it to be very comfortable on the lips, not drying at all. I wore it for a good 5 hours, I was eating and drinking, and it actually lasted very well. I didn’t see too much fading by the end of the night, I’m not one to reapply lipstick so I was pretty impressed with the staying power.

Overall, I really like these, I’m super excited to wear them and I might even be picking up more for spring!

Have you tried these? What do you think?
