Updated Skin Care Routine!

It’s all about updates for now.

I’ve been using quite a bit of new skin and hair products, so I thought I’d share them with you. Today, I’m just going to focus on skin.

Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Scrub Foam

Easily my new favorite facial scrub. This product is pretty cool because you can choose the level of exfoliation by the amount of water you add before you apply it. You can apply it straight to your face for more exfoliation or add water to just use it as a foam cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling super clean, not dry and smells really nice!

Freshmade Coconut Mask

Skinfood Freshmade Coconut Mask

This product actually surprised me. What do you think of when a product is a mask? I thought this was going to be a thicker formulation, something that stays on your face for 10-15 minutes before you wash it off (think SheaMoisture clay masks), but that’s not at all what you get here. This ‘mask’ is a super lightweight, jelly-like consistency. It’s described as ‘bursting moisture droplets’, which is pretty accurate. When you apply it, you can feel it almost melting right into the skin. It absorbs super quickly, leaves no residue and instantly hydrates.

SheaMoisture Coconut Oil Coffee Scrub

The only new non-facial product on my list. I needed a new body scrub, I’m trying to get the KP on the legs back under control after mostly ignoring it in winter and spring. I decided to try this one because it is supposed to soften and restore, and it’s a coffee scrub… my favorite kind. This scrub is actually coffee grinds… straight up, no liquid in there, nothing binding the grinds together, just coffee grinds. I’m assuming the coconut oil is infused somewhere. It actually makes your shower smell like freshly brewed coffee, which is great for any morning shower people! I’m loving this scrub. Not only does it smell great when you use it, it really does leave your skin amazingly soft.

Those are all my new skin care products at the moment. What are some of your faves for summer?

IT Cosmetics Miracle Water and Secret Sauce Review!

Always love new skincare from IT Cosmetics! And let me tell you… this is good stuff.

Itmiraclewaterandsecretsauce | by themani-ac

First up, we have the Miracle Water 3-in-1 Glow Tonic. From It Cosmetics:

“Developed with plastic surgeons, Miracle Water™ 3-in-1 Glow Tonic instantly transforms your skin and maximizes the benefits of your skincare routine! This lightweight no-rinse product combines your Skin-Brightening Radiance Booster to help purify, balance and brighten the look of your skin, your potent Anti-Aging Treatment Essence to diffuse the look of lines and wrinkles, and your Skin-Softening Micellar Cleanser to gently attract, trap and remove dirt, oil, impurities and makeup—all in one simple step.

Infused with Secret Sauce™ Fermented Complex, a clinically advanced combination of 7 penetration-enhancing fermented ingredients, Miracle Water™ helps to increase absorbency and improve the efficacy of your moisturizers and serums. With anti-aging peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, rose, aloe, rice, chamomile, green tea water, licorice root and vitamin C—plus illuminating Drops of Light Technology™ Concentrate and diamond powder—it also gives you a youthful, lit-from-within glow! Use it after cleansing or in place of your cleanser for powerful results immediately and over time.”

I’ve been using this every morning after washing my face. I’ve tried some other toners before, but haven’t liked any of them. I really like this one. You only need a small amount on a cotton round for your entire face, and it absorbs pretty quickly and it doesn’t leave any noticeable residue after application. Also, the scent is just a clean smell, nothing fruity or flowery.

Now, Secret Sauce. From It Cosmetics:

“Developed with plastic surgeons, Secret Sauce™ immediately hydrates and transforms your skin! The skin-loving, powerfully potent secret lies in the Secret Sauce™ Fermented Complex: 7 clinically advanced, penetration-enhancing fermented ingredients that help to increase absorbency and maximize the ultra-hydrating, anti-aging benefits of Secret Sauce™.

Also featuring anti-aging peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and licorice root, Secret Sauce™ is perfect for all skin types and reduces the look of discoloration, lines and wrinkles. Combined with proprietary Drops of Light Technology™ Concentrate and diamond powder, this luxurious innovation gives you a youthful, lit-from-within glow—and is your secret to beautiful skin! Instantly reveal younger-looking skin and experience more miraculous results over time”

I’ve been using these two products in tandem, so after Miracle Water, I apply Secret Sauce! It is white in color, but that disappears as you rub it into your skin. It absorbs pretty quickly as well, but it does leave your skin a little tacky. I think it actually helps with my makeup application, so I don’t mind it. The scent is again, a clean smell, almost similar to a very light soap scent.

On a side note, I’m in love with the holographic/opalescent packaging!

I love trying new skin care products, but I am always a little weary because my skin can be a bit picky. I’m happy to report that not only have I had no bad reactions, but I think using both these products has actually helped clear my skin! I had a few blemishes and breakouts when I started testing, which started to clear up within a couple of days of use.

Overall, so happy with these two new products! They’ve become my morning go-to skin care routine. Both of these are available on the It Cosmetics website, so check them out!

Boscia Charcoal Deep-Pore Cleansing Stick Treatment Review!

A month or so ago I went to Sephora looking for the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask, and of course, they did not have it. Not one was in stock. I guess everyone had the same idea as me that weekend. So, one of the girls working there suggested that I try the charcoal stick treatment, and I’m so glad she did!

https://i0.wp.com/www.boscia.com/shop/images/products/208L.jpg

This is literally a stick, like deodorant or a chapstick, you roll it up from the bottom. I had never used a solid cleanser before, but I have used charcoal cleansers and really liked them before.

So, basically, you wet your face, roll up a bit of the cleanser and apply in circular motions all over your face. It will lather up slightly, and you’ll feel the fine charcoal particles exfoliate. Then work it in a bit more with your fingers, if you like (I do), and rinse. It rinses easily and leaves my face super clean and not at all dry.

I love this stuff! I am so glad that someone pointed this out to me, otherwise I probably would not have even looked at it. I use this a few times a week, and it definitely helps to clear up my skin if I’m having any issues. Honestly, this might be a new holy grail cleanser for me, I really do love it that much.

Have you every used this before? What about any other solid cleansers?

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Review!

I don’t even want to tell you guys how obnoxiously dry my skin was at the start of winter, I decided it was definitely time for a skin care upgrade.

I asked a blogger group that I’m part of for suggestions, and a bunch of people said to try out First Aid Beauty.

I went to Sephora that weekend, tested a bunch of stuff and ultimately decided on the Ultra Repair Cream.

I’ve been using it every day since I bought it, and I have to say that it actually made a huge difference right away. My skin is noticeably more moisturized, not one patch of dryness. My makeup is looking so much better after I use this in the morning. It’s so good that I use it in the morning under my makeup and at night before I go to bed. The texture of it is a bit different, it feels almost whipped. It’s super soft, non-greasy and absorbs super quickly. The only thing that’s lacking for me is the scent, it’s just very lotion-y, and it look me a little while to get used to it. It’s not unpleasant, just kind of meh. I can definitely overlook the scent with these results, though.

Overall, amazing. I’m kind of obsessed with this cream, it is awesome. I actually want to go back and get the serum as well. First Aid Beauty will definitely be one of my skin care go-tos from now on.

Skinfood Egg White Pore Foam Review!

I’ve been on a skin care kick, that’s mostly what I’ve been buying lately. I was browsing Ulta’s website before a trip there and I saw this! It immediately intrigued me, and I had to find it. Luckily, I did!

So, I always like to start with scent… this smells perfumey , but then as you lather it up you do get a hint of a weird almost raw eggy smell, its subtle but still weird lol.

The formula is thick, almost lotion like, and you only need a little bit because the name ‘pore foam’ is no lie, it seriously lathers up into a really rich foam.

I’ve been using it a few times a week, and I have to say.. so far so good! I was worried that it might break me out, but it’s super gentle and I haven’t had any bad reactions to it. It leaves my face feeling really nice and clean, yet not dried out at all. So, giving it an A+ and I can’t wait to try more products from this brand!

Have you tried anything from Skinfood?

Neutrogena Naturals Multi-Vitamin Nourishing Night Cream Review!

Happy December, everyone! I can’t believe it’s already December, winter is upon us and that meas it’s time for new skin care! I’ve been debating about getting a night cream, because my skin gets pretty dry after I wash it at night, and I figure that moisturizing at night and in the morning will help my skin from drying out during the day. Who know? But I’m hoping it helps.

Neutrogena® Naturals Multi-Vitamin Nourishing Night Cream

The night cream I decided to get was actually a total impulse buy. I was looking at a different one from Ulta, but was too lazy to go there lol so, when I found myself in Walmart, I saw this one and grabbed it.

It’s the Neutrogena Naturals. I’ve never seen this line before so I was pretty excited! My skin is super picky about lotions and creams, and the only one I can really use is Neutrogena.

Firstly, I’d like to mention that it is in a glass jar! I’m a sucker for packaging and the glass jar just make sit feel much more high end. It does have a scent, it’s a bit tropical, not too floral or citrusy. It’s not very strong, I’m usually not all about face products with scent, but this one is very nice and doesn’t bother my skin at all. It’s a nice thick texture and abords quickly, leaving skin feeling nice and hydrated.

I’ve been using this every night that I wash my face, which is most nights, sometimes I cheat with a makeup wipe if I’m lazy. The next morning I will wash my face again and moisturize with Neutrogena Hydro Boost. I have found that, so far, my skin has been less dry throughout the day, and I’m thinking it’s because I’ve added this extra layer of moisturizing to my routine. I’m also very happy to say that I have had no skin reactions to this product! No breakouts or irritation.

Overall, I’m super happy with it, and actually look forward to applying it every night. If you’re looking for a night moisturizer, definitely check this one out. For the price point, you cannot beat it.

Freeman Feeling Beautiful Apple Cider Vinegar 4-in-1 Foaming Clay Review!

I’ve been on a skin care kick, I’ve been obsessed with finding a peel off mask. While on my search, I came across this and I’m so glad I did!

So far, I’ve only used this as a scrub, and I love it!  We need to discuss the smell… it seriously smells like apple cider and it’s so great, especially in the fall when I’m all about the apple cider.

The product itself is a peach color, and it’s not super thick even though it says that it’s a clay. I was wondering how it foamed up, I almost thought it could be like those bubbling masks that I’ve seen online, but it’s not like that, it actually starts to foam up when it touches water. It also has some small particles in it, which are great for exfoliating.

Every time I use it, my face feels super clean. I honestly love everything about this and I’ll probably be buying it again. I’m actually pretty excited to try other products from this brand as well. The best part? It’s only $4.29 at Ulta! I actually got it with another product for BOGO 50% off!

Have you tried this brand before? What are your favorite scrubs?

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Review!

I’ve wanted to try this forever! Especially since the spokesperson is Kristen Bell. I’m not one for spokespeople, but… I love Kristen Bell. And I love a good moisturizer, so I basically needed this.

neutrogenahydroboost

So, water gel. That’s actually the best way I can see to describe it. It’s cool to the touch and feels cool on your face. It’s pretty refreshing. It absorbs quickly and you only need a little bit for your entire face.

I use this as my moisturizer, after j wash my face and before I prime. I find it very moisturizing and lightweight. I like it better than the Neutrogena day cream that I was using before, as sometimes creamy lotions can feel heavy.

Its especially good because it’s been a hot summer here, and I don’t like too much heaviness on my face.

In terms of moisturizing, I find it keeps my skin nicely moisturizer during the day and my makeup doesn’t cake up as much as it did before.

Overall, I’m all over this and I highly suggest trying it. If you want to try it, definitely shop around as I’ve seen $2 differences between different stores. I got mine at Wegmans for $17.99, and I’ve seen it at Ulta for $19.99.

My Winter Skincare Routine!

It’s definitely starting to feel like winter around these parts, so I decided to share my updated winter skincare routine!

IA-SCRUB4detail

First step in my day is using this baby! I love this stuff, I know you’re not supposed to exfoliate every day… but I kinda do. I water it down quiet a bit so it’s just a little scrubby. It’s saved my face a few times.

6802535_320x385This is my new moisturizer and I love it! I finished my Infinite Aloe moisturizer and needed a new one, so I figured I should get something super moisturizing for the winter. I’m usually very sensitive to new skin products, but Neutrogena has never let me down! This one is great, it’s pretty thick and super creamy, and you only need a little bit for your whole face.

41O5C-TzGsL._SX425_My mom has been on a Clarins kick lately. She bought a whole bunch of stuff, got one of these and I inherited it. I’ve been using this as my nightly face wash. It’s creamy, lathers up nicely and is super gentle, seriously the softest bubbles ever.

deepCleansingPoreStripsAnd of course… my new favorite thing to do… pore strips. I use these once a week and loveeee them. Everyone makes fun of me when I have them on around the house, but that’s okay.

What are your go to products in the winter?
