I’ve used this eye cream before, and I really liked it. It definitely hydrated and reduced my under eye puffiness.

Updated Skin Care Routine!

It’s all about updates for now.

I’ve been using quite a bit of new skin and hair products, so I thought I’d share them with you. Today, I’m just going to focus on skin.

 

 

Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Scrub Foam

Easily my new favorite facial scrub. This product is pretty cool because you can choose the level of exfoliation by the amount of water you add before you apply it. You can apply it straight to your face for more exfoliation or add water to just use it as a foam cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling super clean, not dry and smells really nice!

 

 

Skinfood Freshmade Coconut Mask

This product actually surprised me. What do you think of when a product is a mask? I thought this was going to be a thicker formulation, something that stays on your face for 10-15 minutes before you wash it off (think SheaMoisture clay masks), but that’s not at all what you get here. This ‘mask’ is a super lightweight, jelly-like consistency. It’s described as ‘bursting moisture droplets’, which is pretty accurate. When you apply it, you can feel it almost melting right into the skin. It absorbs super quickly, leaves no residue and instantly hydrates.

 

SheaMoisture Coconut Oil Coffee Scrub

The only new non-facial product on my list. I needed a new body scrub, I’m trying to get the KP on the legs back under control after mostly ignoring it in winter and spring. I decided to try this one because it is supposed to soften and restore, and it’s a coffee scrub… my favorite kind. This scrub is actually coffee grinds… straight up, no liquid in there, nothing binding the grinds together, just coffee grinds. I’m assuming the coconut oil is infused somewhere. It actually makes your shower smell like freshly brewed coffee, which is great for any morning shower people! I’m loving this scrub. Not only does it smell great when you use it, it really does leave your skin amazingly soft.

Life Update!

It’s been awhile.

I’m going to try to change that.

I thought I’d start with a general life update.

Well, last June, I got engaged and then the madness started. We started wedding planning and house hunting at the same time.. horrible idea unless you are a brilliant multitasker, which obviously, neither of us are.

The wedding planning got on every single one of my nerves, I could not stand it, so after three venue visits, I decided no more for me and we started focusing on the finding a place to live.

We were looking to rent, and finally found a place that we really liked. The day we were going to put in our application, my parents decided to throw a wrench in our plans.

They finally realized that a wedding wasn’t for us, I had no interest in planning one, not even in talking about planning one. So instead of pushing the subject, they offered to help us with a down payment for a house instead (very thankful to them for that). So the house hunting began.

My fiance and I aren’t very productive people when we don’t have a direction, which is exactly what happened with this process. The realtor he wanted to use was away planning his son’s wedding in Greece, then my parents went on a European cruise… we seemed to be the only ones left in the US… totally lost.

We started going out with a realtor friend of his, lets keep in mind that this kid was a part time realtor/part time bartender (insert confused emoji).

We went out to see all the foreclosures, I don’t think he took us to see anything else. There were things we liked, the fiance was quick to like everything, I’m not so easily pleased. We did see a really nice flip, but not in the town we wanted. I didn’t get the right feeling from any of the places. My gut knows what’s up, I tend to listen to it.

We found one property that we did like, we could potentially see it working for us. My parents had come back so we decided to take my dad and his parents to see it. I wish you could have been with me in the car home. It was a disaster. I mean,  you could see it on everyone’s face when we were there and I still wasn’t totally feeling it, but they were all being very polite in front of this ‘realtor’.

To make a long story short, that did not work out. We decided against it.. luckily.

A few more houses here and there, we brought his parents and aunt and uncle to one.. we found mold and a crumbling foundation… that was a no go.

After that, the original realtor finally came back from Greece. My dad was also eager to go out with us, he claimed that we would find the right place in a day. Challenge accepted.

The ‘realtor’ wasn’t available the day we wanted to go out, so we went with original realtor and my parents to see 4/5 properties. I hate to say when my dad is right because he does get a big head… but he was right. The second property we walked in to… all of us knew.

That night we made an offer, almost got into a bidding war, and moved in on December 23rd. I think the whole process was about a month and a half, it was super fast.

So, it’s been 4 months, we love it. The downstairs is done, the upstairs.. well, that’s a work in progress. It’s been a bit of  whirlwind, with moving, holidays, family, the house… but it’s getting there.

I’m definitely going to try and make more time for writing now that I finally feel settled enough.

Oh! A word of warning! Do not use the noob realtor… go with someone good.

IT Cosmetics Miracle Water and Secret Sauce Review!

I’ve been using this every morning after washing my face. I’ve tried some other toners before, but haven’t liked any of them. I really like this one. You only need a small amount on a cotton round for your entire face, and it absorbs pretty quickly and it doesn’t leave any noticeable residue after application. Also, the scent is just a clean smell, nothing fruity or flowery.

I’ve been using these two products in tandem, so after Miracle Water, I apply Secret Sauce! It is white in color, but that disappears as you rub it into your skin. It absorbs pretty quickly as well, but it does leave your skin a little tacky. I think it actually helps with my makeup application, so I don’t mind it. The scent is again, a clean smell, almost similar to a very light soap scent.

On a side note, I’m in love with the holographic/opalescent packaging!

I love trying new skin care products, but I am always a little weary because my skin can be a bit picky. I’m happy to report that not only have I had no bad reactions, but I think using both these products has actually helped clear my skin! I had a few blemishes and breakouts when I started testing, which started to clear up within a couple of days of use.

Overall, so happy with these two new products! They’ve become my morning go-to skin care routine. Both of these are available on the It Cosmetics website, so check them out!

NOTD: Pixie Dust!

I’ve really been loving those holo flakies, I’ve been using them a lot. This is probably my current favorite application… and it reminds me of pixie dust!

My base here is Zoya Blu, I also sponged on some Zoya Abby and Purity. While it was still tacky, I sprinkled on the holo flakies with a fan brush then pressed them in with my finger. Once that was set, I topped it off with Essie Good to Go.

And that’s it! Such an easy way to jazz up a mani.

Smile Direct Club End Of Treatment Update

I’ve officially finished my Smile Direct Club treatment! I’ve actually been done for a couple of weeks, and I’m on to the retainer phase.

The end of my treatment was just like the rest of it, changed aligners every two weeks until the end. Nothing much out of the ordinary, no fit issues and no real pain.

What I really wanted to talk about was the horrible retainer experience. So I ordered my retainers at the end of May, I received an email confirmation that they should take 7-10 days, but at the end of June I still did not have them. I started emailing their customer service to see what was going on, because I was charged for them. They told me that production was delayed, so I just went with it. Three weeks into July, I still didn’t have them or any communication from Smile Direct Club about the delay so I started emailing them again.
After various responses from various agents, I could not get a straight answer. Some people said they’d be delivered in a week, others said they were still in production, so it was obvious to me that no one had any idea where my retainers were.

After a lot of emails back and forth, I actually got a full refund for the massive delay.

Luckily, this was all during my treatment so I didn’t have to stop wearing the aligners without having the retainers.

They finally came a few days before my treatment ended, so I was super excited. I didn’t actually open them until I had to put them in and oh my god. They were a mess. I tried them on and they did not fit at all. I compared them to my aligners and the retainers were not at all cut properly. It looked like they weren’t trimmed at all.

 

You can see the difference.

I emailed them and got an apology and they escalated my issue, but I just decided to trim them myself because I was honestly over it and knew it would take them forever. The last communication I got from them was a request for 12 pictures of the retainers on so they could see the issues. Yeah, no thanks. Over it. My trimming worked well enough and I was able to wear them, so I just didn’t even bother responding.

So, I’m currently wearing my retainers every night. I’ve seen a massive change from the actual aligners, so they definitely work and I would highly recommend checking them out. The retainer experience was a mess, but I did get a full refund and I was able to salvage them, so it’s not a total loss.

I have noticed my teeth shifting a little bit now that I don’t wear aligners all day, but it’s nothing noticeable, I can feel it, but you can’t really see it. The retainers do help with it, my teeth shift into proper place over night and they shift back less and less every day. Overall, I’m very happy with the results.

I have been waiting for this! I love Superhero Mascara, everyone who tries it loves it, so I was so excited to try the liner! This is a liquid eye liner with a brush tip (my favorite!) in the color super black. It actually contains lash-enhancing peptides, collegan, biotin and kertain! It retails for $24.

Confidence in a Cleanser

Super excited that IT has come out with a cleanser! I’ve had hits and misses with the Confidence line, this it turning into a major hit! It is sulfate free, soap free, and contains Anti-Aging Armour Rejuvenating Concentrate to help skin look rejuvenated and restored. Collagen and hyaluronic acid plump the appearance of lines and wrinkles. This retails for $24.

Bye Bye Redness Neutralizing Correcting Cream

I’ve been having some redness issues, especially after a minor sunburn I got. I decided that this was the perfect time to try out the correcting cream! And I have to say, I am super impressed! This correcting cream has amazing coverage and a little bit goes a long way. I haven’t had any creasing or cracking and it completely covers any redness. You can wear this alone or under makeup, and it contains colloidal oatmeal, aloe, tumeric, collagen and peptides. This retails for $32.

Bye Bye Lines Foundation

This. I love this foundation. It feels super light on the skin, blends in really nicely and has buildable full coverage. One of the best parts about it is the pump! Some pumps give you way too much product, that’s not the case with this one. It has a little more resistance, so you can control how much you get with each pump and don’t end up wasting a lot of product. I’ve had issues with other liquid foundations looking dry or settling into my skin, but I haven’t had any of those issues with this foundation at all, it’s amazing! It contains anti-aging hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, caviar extract, argan oil and vitamins. This foundation retails for $38.

Bye Bye Under Eye Concealing Pot

Another awesome concealer from IT. I have some dark circles, and this product takes care of them with no problem. I’ve used other dark circle concealers that crease, no creasing with this guy! This concealer also contains anti-aging hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants. It retails for $28.

I’m actually using all these products everyday and they have quickly grown to become my go-tos. I’m super excited to try all the other products and I’ll be reporting back with full reviews!

It’s QVC TSV time! Here we have the three piece It’s Your 30 Seconds To Flawless- Looking Skin Collection!

This collection comes with two, yes, you heard me.. two Supersize Celebration Foundations and Heavenly Luxe Angled Buffing Foundation Brush!

The Celebration Foundation is formulated with SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad spectrum sunscreen, along with anti-aging hydrolyzed collagen, peptides and antioxidants.

The shade I received is Light. I’m a fair in IT Cosmetics products, so this color was too dark for me. I have used the Fair before, and i know that the coverage s relaly good for a powder foundation. It’s a medium coverage, but it’s buildable and it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…. IT Cosmetics brushes are my all time favorite. Love them. I literally haven’t tried one that I haven’t liked.

If you like the Celebration Foundation, it’s time to stock up! You can even keep one for yourself and gift the other!

Ocean Nail Supply Holo Flakies Review!

If you follow nail art on Instagram, you’ve probably seen holo flakies everywhere. I’ve been obsessed with them since I first saw them, and I finally got my hands on a jar!

The blue polish I have on is Zoya Mallory, but we’re here to focus on the flakies. So, I did one coat of black polish, I used Zoya Willa. When it was still tacky, I pressed the flakies into the polish, then topped with Essie Good to Go.

I didn’t think one coat of flakies was enough so I did a second coat. I did a thin coat of Sally Hansen Big Shiny Top Coat (you can use any clear polish), and when that was tacky, I pressed in more of the flakies and again, topped with Essie Good to Go.

These holo flakies are beautiful! I kept staring at them in the jar lol. So, you can totally use these with regular polish, like I did. Most of the time on Instagram, they are used with gel. I definitely think you need two coats, if you’re using them with regular polish. I used my finger to press them in, but you could use one of those eye shadow applicators or a brush if you wanted to. They are a bit messy, they can get everywhere, so be careful of that.

As I was testing them, my sister turned and said “that is the most effective way” to get such a glittery look… and I can’t disagree. It’s definitely more effective than a lot of polishes and regular glitter. The flakies also lay a lot flatter than other glitter/glitter polishes, so after top coat everything is pretty smooth.

I haven’t noticed too much wear, just a bit around the edges after a few days, not too much wear at the tips of my nails, which is impressive. Also, no peeling or lifting, which is awesome!

Overall, I’m loving these flakies. I can’t wait to use them in other ways.
