NOTD: Rose Gold Leopard!

I was initially inspired by some awesome floral nails on Instagram, I tried it, failed so hard and came up with this instead!

rosegoldleopard2rosegoldleopard

The base is actually a gradient. It’s Orly Pure Porcelain and Zoya Purity. I did the nude to white gradient for the florals… after that failed, I decided to redo it because I really liked it.

I figured rose gold would look nice with nude and white, so I finally used some of my rose gold Swarovski studs that I got a while back on Daily Charme. I’ve been meaning to use them, but hadn’t found the right mani for them.

Then I decided to ride the rose gold train and use ILNP Juliette to do just a touch of leopard print. Topped everything off with Essie Good To Go.

I gotta say… I love how this came out. As much as I wanted to attempt the florals, flowers aren’t really my thing. This is much more my speed. What do you think?

NOTD: Brushstrokes and Gold Leaf!

I’ve been stuck in a major rut again, but I finally got some inspiration from browsing Instagram the other day.

goldflakesandbrudhstrokes

My base is Orly Pure Porcelain. I love Pure Porcelain so much, I’m going to bee another bottle soon. I decided on a negative space half moons, just for fun.  To my pointer, pinky and thumb I added some gold leaf right down the middle, kind of mosaic-like. For my middle and ring I did some dry brushing with Essie Leggy Legend and Chanel Taboo. I thought the dry brushed nails needed something extra, so I added the round studs. After all that, I topped everything off with Essie Good to Go.

I like how this came out, especially the gold leaf. What do you think?

NOTD: Outlined Nude!

So… I went to a wedding on Friday! Had to do my nails for the occasion and I’ve been really inspired by Japanese style nail art recently.

goldoutlinestudsI really loved the outlining from my last mani, so I definitely wanted to do that again. My base is two coats of Orly pure Porcelain and the outline is Zoya Ziv, which I freehanded. Then I just added some studs and topped everything with Essie Good To Go.

I really like how this came out, it was simple but pretty. My grandma said it reminded her of fancy plates lol what do you guys think?

NOTD: A Little Bit Of Everything!

What happens when you can’t decide on one thing? This…

neonpastelskittlesThere’s a lot going on here lol. My pointer is two coats of Zoya Purity topped with Orly Glowstick. My middle finger is two coats of MAC Mischievous Mint topped with a Mischievous Mint and Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac saran wrap marble, and that is topped with a Milani Black Magic dry brush and then I added an outline of Zoya Ziv. That one was very complicated lol. My ring finger is two coats of Lacey Lilac with a gold foil gradient. And finally, my pinky is two coats of Mischievous Mint with a single stud! Everything is topped with Essie Good To Go.

I really liked these! It surprised me a little bit haha I love how the saran warp marble topped with dry brush kind of looks like a stone, and of course, everything is better with a little neon. What do you guys think?

NOTD: Disney Galaxy For My Birthday!

It’s my birthday! And I’m in Disney World! I’m a quarter of a century old today, and the only way to combat feeling too old is by celebrating in my favorite place… the happiest place on earth! Yes, I’m a walking billboard for Disney at all times lol.

disneygalaxyMy base is one good coat of Zoya Neve. Then I sponged on Zoya Purity followed by China Glaze At Vase Value, Orly Frisky, Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac and Brucci Absolute Andrea. Once I got all the colors sponged on, I actually went back and sponged on Neve in certain areas. When everything was dry I added a coat of Sally Hansen Disco Ball for the sparkle! When that was dry, I used Purity and a dotting tool to do the dots and Mickeys! Finally topped everything off with Essie Good To Go.

Soooo, I like them lol. What do you guys think?

Oh oh, happy Friday and Memorial Day Weekend!

NOTD: Silver Flecked Blue Gradient!

Phew, that title is kind of a mouthful!

silverfleckedgradient

So, for the gradient I used China Glaze At Vase Value, Orly Frisky and China Glaze I Sea The Point. My base was one coat of At Vase Value, then I used a makeup sponge for the gradient. Once that was dry, I was debating about adding some glitter, but then decided to use silver leaf. I attach the leaf by dotting some clear polish or top coat all over the nail then randomly adding little pieces of the silver leaf. Once that was set, I put on a nice coat of Essie Good To Go!

I really like how this came out! I’ve rekindled my love for gradients, and I like the specs of silver with the blues. My mom loved this one, which surprised me because the only polishes she ever wears are light pinks/nudes for spring and summer and dark reds for fall and winter lol. What do you guys think?

NOTD: Pastel Tweed!

Finally starting to come out of my rut. I think once the weather gets better, I’ll be more inspired. I’m also on the hunt fr some nail models! Anyway, in a moment of clarity I was inspired by some tweed nail art I saw so I thought I’d give it a try.

pasteltweed

I used three different colors for my bases: on my pointer and pinky I have two coats of MAC Mischievous Mint, ring is two coats of Zoya Megan and middle is two coats of Orly Pure Porcelain.

For the ‘tweed’ I used a striping brush and Zoya Remy, Zoya Megan, MAC Mischievous Mint and Zoya Purity. Basically I just made a kind of cross hatch design.

I also added gold and silver studs over the solid colors. Gold for the mint and silver for the purple.

It didn’t turn out exactly as I’d hoped haha doesn’t look much like tweed. It looks a little more distressed from away, but I actually like it. I might try this again one day. What do you guys think?

NOTD: Matte Graffiti!

I’ve been feeling very almost springy lately. I’m tired of the cold, and dark colors! All I want is spring! So I’ve got a happy, kind of springy mani!

matte graffiti

I’ve got a bunch of colors to list, so lets get this going. My base coats are two coats of Zoya Purity on my middle and pointer, and two coats of LA Girl Groupie. Then I used the dry brush ‘distressing’ technique with Essie The More the Merrier, Orly Frisky, Zoya Haven and Jin Soon Heirloom. I topped everything off with NYC Matte Me Crazy.

I love the graffiti-ish look of the dry brushing! Especially with these happy colors. I’m definitely going to have to start using the technique more often. If you’d like a tutorial, you can head over to Chalkboard Nails, she has a great one (plus she’s amazing).

What do you guys think?
